Bridgestone and Firestone have been two company names synonymous with quality tires for over a combined 175 years. Recently the Japanese company (Bridgestone) and American company (Firestone) combined into Bridgestone Americas Holding, Inc. They still produce high quality tires across the entire spectrum from a 13-foot-tall giant radial for earthmoving equipment to a kart tire that stands only 10 inches high .
One of the best lines of high performance tires Bridgestone produces is the series of Potenza tires.
Potenza tires gained popularity after being used on race cars in 1965. Now Potenza tires are used internationally for almost all high performance vehicles.
One of the most popular models of Potenza tires is the Potenza RE750. These Potenza tires are created for ultra-high performance and noise reduction. The tire is designed to wear down evenly in performance situation, and the tread is in a unidirectional pattern to increase traction to the road even in highly hazardous weather. The tire has a rounder shape to give better handling to the car, and a built in Rim Guard to protect the tire from dangerous curb damage. The different versions of the Potenza RE750 are all designed to receive the same Uniform Tire Quality Grading (UTQE) rating of 340-AAA by the American Department of Transportation..
The Potenza RE92 is a model of Potenza tires created for sports cars all year round. The tread on these Potenza tires is designed to keep traction in snow and other weather conditions and to reduce noise. The tire is reinforced with two steel belts for stabilization, and is computer designed to lessen noise and reinforce comfort.
One group of Potenza tires made specifically for high performance sports vehicles is the Potenza GIII. The GIII's unidirectional design is inspired by formula-one tires, and features O-Bead II technology to create stability in the tire by improving the round shape. These Potenza tires also utilize Flat Force Block to insure easier handling by forcing each tread block to become more equal in their strength. For noise reduction the designers used Comprehensive Tire Design Method II, which creates a more even road contact. These Potenza tires are also equipped with Hdyro Evacuation Surface and Particle Z to increase safety and comfort, lower hazardous conditions and noise, and boost steering and performance.
Like other Potenza tires, the GIII can come in several different sizes. The variety of different sizes and shapes are to fit different cars better, thus giving the user of Potenza tires a smother ride.
Wheels are the most important part of any vehicle. They are the only part that touches the road and without them it would be impossible for a car to move. High performance sports cars needs high performance tire. Potenza tires and other company made projects are designed specifically for this purpose.
