Bridgestone Turanza Tires: Turanza Er30, Turanza El42 And Turanza Ls Z

What do the car tires, airplane tires, roof tiles, conveyor belts, and golf balls have in common? Most likely, they are all manufactured by Bridgestone, a Japanese rubber conglomerate. Bridgestone, the world's largest tire maker, also produces many other rubber products, however, tires remain their main product. A popular brand of Bridgestone is Turanza tires, which come in a variety of types including LS, ER30, and EL42.

In 2002, Bridgestone released the Turanza LS. These Turanza tires provide road-gripping traction, while providing a quieter, smoother ride and improved performance in wet conditions. These Turanza tires are also equipped with UNI-T technology, which is a dual-layer tread designed to improve the wet performance of Turanza tires as they age.

The latest addition to the line of Turanza tires is the Turanza LS. This particular model of Turanza tires contains a Super Extended Performance Compound (EPC), as well as an enhanced version of the dual-layer tread. These features further improve the performance of Turanza tires in wet and dry conditions, even as the tires age and wear. In addition to all of these features, the Turanza LS is rounder to provide better handling in both wet and dry conditions.

The Turanza LS is available in T, H, V and Z speed-rating variants. The Turanza LS H has a 50,000 mileage rating and a Uniform Tire Quality Grade (UTQG) of 400 AA A, while the Turanza LS Z is rated for a mileage of 40,000 and has a 320 AA A UTQG. As for the design of these Turanza tires, the tire tread and sidewall are detailed, giving the tire a sophisticated look fit for luxury cars.

Aside from the LS series, other types of Turanza tires include the Turanza ER30 and the
Turanza EL42. The ER30 is usually used as Original Equipment on sports cars, coupes, sedans and SUVs. This tire is intended to be stylish while still providing quality handling and a smooth ride. Considered a summer tire, the ER30 offers good traction on wet and dry roads in mild or hot weather, but is not supposed to be driven in colder temperatures, nor on snow or ice.

To provide for quality handling on dry roads, the ER30 tires boast large rectangular tread blocks. They also have lateral and circumferential tread grooves to increase traction on wet surfaces. The ER30 is also internally built to increase handling; it contains two steel belts strengthened by spiral wrapped nylon. These Turanza tires come in V and W speed ratings and have a 140A A UTQG.

While the ER30 is made for the summer, the EL42 was developed to provide quality year-round traction, even in light snow. These Turanza tires have the same lateral and circumferential tread grooves as the ER30. Its rectangular tread blocks are siped, which when combined with an all-season tread compound, allows the tire to perform well and give traction in almost any weather, including snowy roads. The EL42 also features a polyester cord body, which provides for an even ride. This tire comes in H, T, and V speed ratings. Its various sizes have UTQG's ranging from 260A A to 320B B.

Turanza tires can be purchased at a number of online tire stores including NexTag and BizRate. Typical prices for LS H Turanza tires range from $97 to $131, and from $135 to $219 for the LS Z. The EL42 is less expensive than LS Z Turanza tires, usually costing between $85 and $216, while prices for the ER30 are typically between $102 and $275.

It is obvious that a great variety exists among these types of Turanza tires. However, these are just a few of the many kinds of tires that Turanza offers. Wherever you live and whatever the weather, chances are good that the right Turanza tire exists your car.
